KELEM Ethiopia, established in 2003, is a national civil society organization dedicated to improving the well-being of individuals and communities across the country. Over the past two decades, KELEM has effectively enhanced the lives of hundreds of thousands through initiatives focused on quality education, water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH); health services; livelihood support; emergency responses; and youth empowerment programs. Headquartered in Addis Ababa, the organization maintains regional program coordination offices nationwide and operates the Job Oriented Youth Skills (JOYS) training center in Kombolcha City. Supported by a dedicated team of 172 staff members, including 85 women, KELEM remains steadfast in its mission to foster sustainable development and empower citizens.
Kelem Ethiopia (Kelem) is a national, not-for-profit, non-political civil society organization (CSO) dedicated to humanity. Established in 2003 and re-registered under the Federal Civil Society Organization Authority, Kelem has been involved in designing and implementing various developmental and emergency response projects.
Kelem primarily focuses on addressing gaps and contributing to areas such as education, skill training, youth employment, livelihood, WASH, health, emergency response, and environmental protection.
Since 2003, Kelem has achieved remarkable success in education and has significantly improved the lives of vulnerable and needy individuals through its health, skill training, youth empowerment, livelihood, WASH, emergency response, and environmental protection programs. It has directly benefited hundreds of thousands of people over the past two decades through its initiatives. Recently, Kelem constructed, established, and now operates its own well-furnished and equipped skill training center, named the JOYS (Job-Oriented Youth Skill Training) Center. Kelem’s headquarters is in Addis Ababa, with branch offices in various parts of the country, employing a total of 180 full-time and whom 85 are women.
