Kelem Ethiopia
Hassina Ousman Nurie is a senior communication professional with over 15 years of experience in journalism, media production, and strategic communication across humanitarian, public health, and private sector institutions in Ethiopia. She joined Kelem Ethiopia in April 2024 as Communication Manager, where she leads the organization’s communication strategy, donor visibility, and public engagement efforts.
At Kelem Ethiopia, Hassina oversees the development of impact stories, newsletters, digital content, and multimedia documentation. She ensures strong branding and compliance with donor communication requirements while strengthening the organization’s online presence and media relations. Her work plays a key role in showcasing Kelem’s programs in education, health, livelihoods, emergency response, and environmental protection.
Before joining Kelem, Hassina served in senior communication roles at international and national institutions, including People in Need, Ethiopian Public Health Institute, Kifiya Financial Technology, and other media and development organizations. She has extensive experience managing EU, USAID, DFID, and foundation-funded project communications.
With a background in journalism and documentary studies, Hassina brings strong storytelling skills, deep cultural understanding, and wide field exposure across Ethiopia. She is passionate about using communication as a tool for development, advocacy, and positive social change.
