ትምህርት ከክፍል ውስጥ ከሚገኝ እውቀት በላይ ነው። እውቀትን፣ ክህሎትንና በራስ መተማመንን በማዳበር ለተሻለ ሕይወት፣ ለጠንካራ ማህበረሰብና ለዘላቂ ልማት መሠረት ይጥላል።በእውቀት የተገነባ ማህበረሰብ ችግርን  ለመጋፈጥ የተሻለ ጥንካሬን ያጎለብታል፡፡ ለዚህም ነው የትምህርት ጥራትና ተደራሽነትን ለማሻሻል ብርቱ ጥረቶች የሚደረጉት፡፡ ትምህርትን የማዳረስ ጥረቶች ዛሬ አለም አቀፍ የማንበብና የመጻፍ ቀን ይከበራል፡፡ ቀኑ ማንበብና መፃፍ ለሰዎች፤ለምንኖርባት ምድርና ለሃገር እድገት ያለውን ወሳኝ ጠቀሜታ በመገንዘብ “Literacy for people, the planet and prosperity” በሚል መሪ ቃል ይከበራል፡፡በአሁኑ ወቅት በዓለም አቀፍ ደረጃ ያለውን የማንበብና የመጻፍ አቅም ስናይ መሻሻል ቢታይም 739 ሚሊዮን ወጣቶችና ጎልማሶች  አሁንም ድረስ መሠረታዊ  የማንበብና የመጻፍ ክህሎት የላቸውም። በተመሳሳይ የአዋቂዎች የማንበብና የመጻፍ ችሎታ ብንመለከት እ.ኤ.አ. በ1975 ከነበረበት 65% ወደ  88% በላይ...
